Horizons Newsletters

At Horizons at the Salisbury School, we like to produce materials that show what we're trying to do and how it is going. We also like to show what activities our students are doing during the summer program. Here are some of the newsletters we have produced relatively recently for easy viewing or printing (right click, go to "Save Target As").

Greetings From the Board

Dear Friends,

It is a privilege to have you reading our website (important updates coming soon!). Here you will find important information about our Horizons students and the Horizons program.

As we enter Horizons’ 6th Summer, we have established many things to ensure our the program’s success in this year and future years. As we add 12 more students to make a total of 72, we have taken the steps to ensure that we have the resources to give each student focused, caring instruction and productive activities. Through events and fund-raisers and the kind donations from people and organizations throughout the community, Horizons at the Salisbury School is stronger than ever before.

This past March we had the Second Annual Horizons Dance Showcase at the Wi-Hi Auditorium where dance studios from all over came together to perform inventive numbers and routines. Through ticket sales, Silent Auction bids and several other sources, the Showcase brought in nearly $9,000! It was an amazing success and we are so thankful to Susan Rogers for her tireless efforts putting the Dance Showcase together.

As always, we thank our partners, the Wicomico County Board of Education, The Salisbury School, and Camp Odyssey for providing so much to this program.

Finally and most importantly, we thank you, the Horizon’s Friends, for all of your kindness. As a small token of our thanks, we hope that you will join us on July 17 at 8:00 AM for the Annual Horizons Donors Breakfast, catered by Chef Jim Hughes of Restaurant 213.

This program has been making a tremendous impact in children’s lives for five years now. Here’s to Year Six being the best one yet!

Best wishes for a Fantastic Summer and Fall,

Bill Middleton, Chairman
